John Deere 3020 Hydraulic Oil Drain Plug Location. I'm in process of changing hydraulic fluid in my 1964 3020 gas power shift. With oil drained would be an excellent time to check sump screen for cleanliness. Servicing the hydraulics on a 3020 synchro shift and the small drain plug is stuck tight. Drain engine cooling system and remove cowl, side shields, grille screens, and hood. The manual shows 2 drain plugs. Disconnect battery ground cable (left battery is grounded on diesel tractor). I tried some heat, but didn't think i should. I just found the drain plug for the engine oil. Trans drain is parts key 20. I have a 1965 john deere 3020 gas row crop that i'm changing the hydraulic and transmission fluid from 303 to hygard.
